Deilenaar (Rare Variety)
My first ever Deilenaar were imported in 2014 from the Netherlands, Hans & Joke Noordzij have my heartfelt thanks for making one of my dreams come true. Thank you Team Deilenaar at www.deilenaar.nl
In 2021 we imported a beautiful trio from Urban & Rose-Marie Andersson in Sweden and words cannot say just how much I appreciate their help.
Our foundation stock from the Netherlands...
The next generation...
Deilenaar from Sweden...
Rosie, Pollyanna & Neelix - All 3 of them have wonderful temperaments & are a pleasure to own.
Why Deilenaar?
The Deilenaar are a fantastic breed, from our photos above you can see the beautiful rich red colouring, the black mackerel effect of the black hairs evenly distributed and the belly colour of these lovely rabbits varies from a deep cream to a rich rusty red - whatever the belly colour of each individual, it is separated from the main body by a nice tan line.
So... that's the colouring taken care of, for what other reasons should you have your very own Deilenaar?
Well, for a start they have a long show life and providing the does are kept in top condition after raising a litter or three, they can still be successfully shown aged 4 - 6yrs.
As an added bonus, the does are not prone to developing dewlaps like some other breeds!
Personality wise, each one is obviously different, but generally they are placid & even tempered
and enjoy attention and cuddles.
This wonderful breed really is a pleasure to own & now that we have owned them, we wouldn't be without them!
